Welcome to pixelfork.com, the one-man agency of Eric Ogburn, a freelance web designer living in Austin, TX, who offers flexible, customizable design solutions for small businesses on limited budgets. Originally founded with the mantra "Websites for the Restaurant Industry," pixelfork.com has evolved from providing web services for restaurants to creating smart, interactive websites for an assortment of clients.
I met author Michael Erard at South by Southwest. He was looking for a website to promote his upcoming book, Um... Slips, Stumbles, and Verbal Blunders, And What They Mean. In addition, he was looking to create a community that would share its own anecdotes about slips of the tongue, and also be able to share them easily. I built his website using Expression Engine for its flexibility in membership, and implemented javascript to allow for users to email multiple stories to friends at once.

Pixelfork offers web design solutions for all small businesses, as well as Wordpress blog themes for personal and professional use. Pixelfork specializes in beautiful, yet functional websites and blogs, working closely with each client, and within each client’s budget, to create the perfect site for every business, or personal blog.
No other industry creates customer loyalty like a good restaurant. Pixelfork will help you stay in touch with those customers and help you grab the new ones, whether it's through daily menu changes or a blog. Ever have a new menu item or a bottle of wine that you knew customers would love if they would just give it a chance? Maybe if they knew a little more about it? Educate them in your blog. Pitch that new Nebbiolo before they ever walk through the door. Perhaps post the recipe to that wonderful bread pudding that was on the last menu. We'll set up the blog to your liking and you can post what you please.
Having spent the better part of a decade in kitchens in New Orleans, New York, and Portland, Eric Ogburn switched careers and started pixelfork.com as design company for local New Orleans restaurants. Quickly, he began to pick up clients outside of the service industry. Though loyal to post-Katrina New Orleans, Mr. Ogburn was driven to Austin by a force more powerful than a hurricane—his wife, a new graduate student at The University of Texas. Mr. Ogburn now accepts clients in both cities.
pixelfork.com is served from one HTML page, offering two different styles to highlight the flexibility of designing with CSS. This site is hand-coded in XHTML Strict 1.0, using CSS for style and javascript for behavior.
